Hugh's MP3 Pick:
Raglan Road
"Ghost in My Home"
Hailing from New York City, Raglan Road is a rough and tumble bad-boy bar band. They drink too much Jaegermeister but thanks to songwriter Dominic Cromie and lightning fiddler Matt Mancuso (his mother's Irish....) they cook up a smart, high-powered brand of Celtic rock.
Though not necessarily of sound mind and body by the time I asked them after a recent gig, the guys agreed to let me include "Ghost In My Home," the lead-off song from their CD, in the next issue of Fenario. "Ghost In My Home" is a romantic ballad about an ex-lover who lingers despite the singer's best efforts to forget. The haunting Irish bar ballad is apparently alive and well - if not quite as teary-eyed as it used to be.
Check out this fine song, available now for free listening and downloading: mp3.com/fenario.
Also, check out their site to listen to high quality Real Audio
tracks from their "Live" CD - especially "Psycho
Reels," an instrumental which features Mancuso's fire.
